The Gwinnett Gladiators announced that rookie goaltender Chris Carrozzi has been assigned to Amercan Hockey League’s Chicago Wolves by the Atlanta Thrashers on Saturday.
The Gladiators are the ECHL affiliate of the Wolves and Thrashers.
Carrozzi, 20, has posted a 13-13-5 record with a 3.23 GAA and a .896 save percentage in 35 games with the Gladiators this season. He stopped 41 of 43 shots in a 3-2 Gwinnett win Friday night in Trenton.
The Nepan, Ontario native capped a four-year career in juniors last season with Mississauga in the OHL where he picked up 19 wins to go with a .916 save percentage. Carrozzi was a sixth round pick (#154) in the 2008 draft by the Thrashers.
