Carzo, King reunite with Mavericks

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. — The Missouri Mavericks announced that they have signed forwards Rocco Carzo and Tristan King for the 2015-16 season.

The Mavericks are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s New York Islanders and the American Hockey League’s Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

Missouri acquire the rights to both Carzo and King on June 16 as the future considerations in a trade with the Ontario Reign that sent Josh Brittain to the Reign ahead of the 2015 ECHL trade deadline.

Carzo, a native of Media, Pa., is heading into his fourth professional season this year. The forward played a total of 64 regular-season games for the Reign last season, scoring 42 points (20g-22a) while notching an additional eight points (4g-4a) in 19 games during the Kelly Cup Playoffs.

King approaches his sixth professional season, having spent time with six different ECHL clubs and one AHL team (Texas Stars). The 26-year-old tallied 33 points (6g-27a) in 42 regular-season contests before picking up 17 points (7g-10a) in 17 postseason contests.
