Chiefs Acquire Jacobsen From Columbia

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – The Johnstown Chiefs announced that they have acquired center Chris Jacobsen from the Columbia Inferno in exchange for financial considerations.

The Chiefs are the ECHL affiliate of the Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League and the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League.

Selected in the ninth round (270th overall) by St. Louis in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, the 23-year-old had five points (2g-3a) in nine games for Columbia and 41 points (13g-28a) in 59 games for Reading as a rookie in 2005-06.

The Inferno acquired Jacobsen and Chris Barr on Mar. 15 from the Reading Royals in exchange for 2005 Kelly Cup Most Valuable Player Leon Hayward.
