Chiefs Acquire Myers

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – The Johnstown Chiefs announced that they have acquired center Matthew Myers and future considerations from the Bakersfield Condors in exchange for right wing Ryan Menei.

It was also announced that goaltender John Murray has been loaned to Manitoba of the American Hockey League and that defenseman R.J. Anderson has been traded to Elmira to complete future considerations portion of the Dec. 17 trade that brought Chanse Fitzpatrick to Johnstown and sent Jarrett Konkle to Elmira.

The Chiefs have a working agreement with the Minnesota Wild of the National Hockey League and the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League.

Former ECHL players on the Wild roster are Derek Boogaard (IR) (Louisiana, 2002-03), Andrew Brunette (Hampton Roads, 1993-94) and Shane Hnidy (Baton Rouge, 1996-97 and Florida) while 2003 ECHL Media Relations Director award winner Ryan Stanzel is the coordinator of media relations for Minnesota. Former ECHL coach and league administrator Troy Ward is assistant coach and assistant general manager for Houston while former Idaho Steelheads broadcaster Joe O’Donnell, who was the 2007 ECHL Broadcaster of the Year, handles the Aeros play-by-play and Jody Green is the team’s athletic trainer.
