JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – The Johnstown Chiefs announced that they would host Youngstown of the Central Hockey League in a preseason game on Oct. 10 before playing two games against the Wheeling Nailers, Oct. 12 at Greensburg, Pa. and Oct. 13 at Wheeling.
The Chiefs are the ECHL affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche and the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League and the Lake Erie Monsters and the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League.
Opening Day for the 20th Anniversary Season of the ECHL will be Oct. 18 when the Chiefs host Wheeling at Cambria County War Memorial. The game will be a rematch of Game 7 from the first-ever ECHL Finals that were played in front of a standing-room-only crowd at Cambria County War Memorial. The two teams will wear special jerseys for the Opening Day game that begins at 7:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast worldwide on B2 Networks, the “Official Broadband Broadcast Provider of the ECHL”.
