JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – The Johnstown Chiefs announced their “Tickets for Troops” program that is designed to provide local military troops and their families with tickets to the team’s season opener on Oct. 18.Opening Day for the 20th Anniversary Season of the ECHL will be Oct. 18 when the Chiefs host Wheeling at Cambria County War Memorial. The game will be a rematch of Game 7 from the first-ever ECHL Finals that were played in front of a standing-room-only crowd at Cambria County War Memorial. The two teams will wear special jerseys for the Opening Day game that begins at 7:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast worldwide on B2 Networks, the “Official Broadband Broadcast Provider of the ECHL”.
The Chiefs are the ECHL affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche and the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League and the Lake Erie Monsters and the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League.
For each ticket purchased and donated through the “Tickets for Troops” program the Chiefs will donate a ticket of equal value.
