JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – The Johnstown Chiefs announced that they will conduct the first President’s Day Invitational youth hockey tournament.
The Chiefs are the ECHL affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche and the Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League and the Lake Erie Monsters and the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League.
“The Chiefs hope to develop a tradition of hosting first-class tournaments with excellent competition in an exceptional tournament atmosphere,” said Chiefs vice president and general manager Bill Bredin. “We look to attract teams from all over Western Pennsylvania and beyond as well as local talent to showcase youth hockey in our region.”
The tournament will be held Feb. 14-16 with games being played at Planet Ice in Richland Township, North Central Recreation Center in Ebensburg, and at the historic Cambria County War Memorial Arena in downtown Johnstown.
