Chiefs’ Michael Named Radio Voice In Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League have announced that John Michael has been hired as the team’s radio play-by-play broadcaster.

Michael has been the radio voice of the Johnstown Chiefs of the ECHL for the past two seasons and was selected to handle the NHL Radio broadcast of the 2005 ECHL All-Star Game.

Michael received his degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Notre Dame where he returned to earn both his law degree and MBA degree. Michael worked for more than four years as a trial attorney at Kirkpatrick & Lockhart in Pittsburgh before becoming the play-by-play voice for the Hagerstown (Maryland) Suns, a minor league affiliate of the San Francisco Giants.
