Chiefs Receive Three
Players From Springfield

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – The Johnstown Chiefs announced that left wing Dennis Packard has been recalled to Springfield of the American Hockey League. The Chiefs also announced that defenseman Doug O’Brien and left wings Adam Henrich and Jean-Francois Soucy have been assigned to Johnstown by Springfield. Johnstown is the ECHL affiliate of Springfield of the AHL and Tampa Bay of the National Hockey League.

Selected in the seventh round (219th overall) by Tampa Bay in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, the 22-year-old Packard had seven points (3g-4a) and six penalty minutes in 15 games with Johnstown. Packard, who has played four games with Springfield, but has not scored a point, will be in uniform for Springfield’s game against Providence on Friday.

Selected in the sixth round (192nd overall) by Tampa Bay in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, the 20-year-old O’Brien is in his first professional season and has six points (1g-5a) and 29 penalty minutes in 32 games with Springfield.
