Christie Named Head Coach Of Grizzlies

WEST VALLEY CITY, UTAH – The Utah Grizzlies on Tuesday named Jason Christie as head coach.

In the past five seasons as head coach of Peoria in the ECHL, Christie was 217-101-42 in the regular season and advanced to the Kelly Cup Playoffs the first four seasons, including reaching the 2001 Northern Conference Finals.

The 36-year-old Christie, who was chosen to coach in the ECHL All-Star Game in 2001 and 2004, played 10 professional seasons, scoring 172 points (58g-114a) in 305 games. He helped Peoria capture the Kelly Cup Championship in 2000, earning co-Most Valuable Player honors.
