PHOENIX – The Phoenix RoadRunners announced that Brad Church has agreed to a one-year contract extension to return as head coach and director of hockey operations.
The 30-year-old took over as head coach on Mar. 22, following the resignation of Ron Filion, and helped the RoadRunners advance to the Kelly Cup Playoffs in only their second season.
“I am excited and ready to go to work in preparation for the upcoming season,” said Church. “We took positive steps this year by making the Kelly Cup Playoffs, and now we must build upon that in order to ensure that the RoadRunners remain a winning product in Phoenix for years to come.
“I would like to thank the Phoenix Suns organization for allowing me this opportunity, and look forward to what should be a terrific 2007-08 season,” he added.
The RoadRunners are the ECHL affiliate of the Phoenix Coyotes of the National Hockey League and the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League.
