Columbia Names Dent As Head Coach

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Columbia Inferno on Thursday announced that Ted Dent has been hired as the team’s new head coach, becoming the second coach in the team’s history.

Dent comes to Columbia after one season as the assistant coach for the 2005 Kelly Cup Champion Trenton Titans. Prior to taking the job in Trenton, Dent spent five seasons as the Video Coordinator for the Washington Capitals, preparing and breaking down videotape to assist the coaching staff in developing its game plans.

“We are delighted to have Ted Dent coaching the Columbia Inferno with all his expertise,” said General Manager Rick Woodard. “We welcome Ted and his family to the Midlands.”
