BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Purslow becomes the first player on the training camp roster who did not suit up for the Condors in 2011-12. A native of Greenlawn, N.Y., the rookie played 146 games over four seasons for the University of Nebraska-Omaha from 2007-11, recording 40 goals and 51 assists for 91 points. The 5’10", 176 lbs. left-handed shot saw his scoring totals increase in each of his four seasons with the Mavericks culminating in 33 points (13g-20a) in 39 games his senior year. He turned pro last season, playing six games with the Reading Royalsand 20 games with Frisk Asker of the Norwegian GET-ligaen. Combined he scored 10 goals and added 13 assists for 23 points.
Before his collegiate career, the 26-year-old registered a highly successful junior career in which he led the United States Hockey League in scoring for the 2006-07 season. Playing for the Des Moines Buccaneers, Purslow played 60 games that season with 27 goals and 55 assists for 82 points. In 118 games over two seasons with the Bucs, he tallied 39 goals and 80 assists for 119 points.
