The Bakersfield Condors have enjoyed a turnaround over the last several weeks, posting an 8-3-0 record over their last 11 games, and winning three straight, to move to 11-15-1 for 23 points and into seventh place in the Western Conference standings.
Bakersfield won each of its two outings last week, starting with a 4-3 victory against Las Vegas on Thursday. Four different Condors found the back of the net in the win while Nicholas Tremblay added a pair of assists. Laurent Brossoit recorded the win in goal with 20 saves.
The Condors returned to the ice on Sunday and picked up a 3-0 win over Idaho. Tremblay, Jordan Knackstedt and Joel Broda scored goals, with Knackstadt and Broda also adding assists, and Brossoit picked up the shutout, stopping all 23 Steelheads’ shots, including 13 in the third period.
Brossoit leads the ECHL with four shutouts (two with Alaska and two with Bakersfield), and in his four starts with the Condors has posted a 3-1-0 record with a 1.25 goals-against average and a save percentage of .947.
Broda tops all Condors scorers with 11 goals and 21 points, and he has posted 18 points (8g-10a) in his last 11 games. Knackstedt and Michael Neal are tied for second on the club with 17 points (8g-9a) while Chris Collins ranks fourth with 16 points (7g-9a) and Gary Steffes rounds out the top five with 12 points (5g-7a).
The Condors open a four-game road trip this week, visiting Las Vegas on Wednesday and Colorado on Friday and Saturday.
