Condors Receive Pair Of Forwards From Houston

Bakersfield, Calif. – The Bakersfield Condors, host of the 2011 ECHL All-Star Classic and ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild, have announced centers Pete Zingoni and Joel Broda have been reassigned to the team from the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League.



Zingoni, 29, is in his seventh pro season after a four-year career at Providence College. The majority of his professional experience has come in the AHL with Syracuse, Philadelphia, Norfolk and Houston. The Bridgeport, Conn., native has posted 55 goals and 97 points in 224 AHL contests, including a career-best 20 goal, 38-point campaign in 2007-08. He also skated with Trenton in the ECHL and spent the 2004-05 season overseas in Finland and Germany as well. Zingoni was an eighth round selection of the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2000. He has played just one game this season with Houston after missing the first 25 games  of the season due to injury.



Broda, 21, is in his rookie season in the pro ranks, and has skated in 18 games with the Aeros thus far, recording seven points (5g-2a). He wrapped up a successful junior career in the Western Hockey League last season with a WHL championship and an appearance in the Memorial Cup. He tallied 39 goals in the regular season and added a league-best 13 goals in 23 playoff games with the Calgary Hitmen. It was his third consecutive season of 30 or more goals. He was named a 2nd team WHL All-Star in 2008-09 when he led the league with 53 goals with Moose Jaw and Calgary. Broda was drafted in the fifth round of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft by the Washington Capitals.
