Costello is AMI Graphics ECHL Plus Performer of the Month


Allen Americans forward Chad Costello is the AMI Graphics ECHL Plus Performer of the Month for December after leading the league with a plus-minus rating of +14 during the month.


Costello was even or better in 12 of 13 games in December, including four games where he posted a +3 rating – Dec. 10 vs. Quad City, Dec. 20 and Dec. 26 against Tulsa and Dec. 31 vs. Rapid City.


The 28-year-old leads the ECHL in plus-minus with a +24 rating and is second in the league with 47 points (17g-30a) in 28 games.


A native of Johnston, Iowa, Costello has 186 points (65g-121a) in 121 career ECHL games with Allen, Ontario, Colorado and Texas. He was named the ECHL Most Valuable Player with Colorado in 2011-12 when he had 76 points (29g-47a) in just 47 games.


He has added 17 points (3g-14a) in 40 career American Hockey League games with Lake Erie, Springfield, Worcester and Bridgeport.


In recognition of his accomplishment, AMI Graphics will present Chad Costello with a personalized Plus Performer of the Month Banner during an on-ice ceremony at an upcoming Americans’ home game.
