Cowick brings AHL experience to Everblades

ESTERO, Fla. – Florida Everblades President & General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Greg Poss announced that the team has agreed to terms with forward Corey Cowick for the 2015-16 season.

The Everblades are the ECHL affiliate of the Carolina Hurricanes of the National Hockey League and the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League.

Cowick joins the Everblades after one season with the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League during which he totaled nine points (6g-3a) and 47 penalty minutes.

The 26-year-old left-winger has totaled 273 games in five AHL seasons logging 84 points (40g-44a) split between his time with Springfield and the Binghamton Senators.

Cowick has also played in the Ontario Hockey League with the Oshawa Generals and Ottawa 67’s, and appeared in 53 games with the Elmira Jackals (ECHL) between 2010-12.

The Gloucester, Ontario native was drafted in the sixth round (160th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft by the Ottawa Senators.
