Coyotes assign Carey to Gwinnett

DULUTH, Ga. – The Gwinnett Gladiators announced the club has received forward Greg Carey on assignment from the Arizona Coyotes.

The Gladiators are the ECHL affiliate of the Coyotes and the Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League.

Carey, 24, has played in five games for the Pirates this season, and in another 13 last season, racking up a goal and an assist. From 2010-14, Carey played for St. Lawrence University, averaging over a point-per-game for the Saints, tallying 185 points (84g-101a) in 152 games.

The native of Hamilton, Ontario finished his time at St. Lawrence with his best offensive season. He scored 57 points (18g-39a) in 38 games as a senior, earning himself a spot among the NCAA First Team All-American, and as a Hobey Baker Award finalist for the second consecutive year.
