Cyclones add Carlson to blue line

CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Cincinnati Cyclones have signed defenseman Cody Carlson for the 2015-16 season. Carlson returns to the United States after playing last season in Europe.

The Cyclones are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Nashville Predators and the American Hockey League’s Milwaukee Admirals.

A native of Victoria, British Columbia, Carlson skated in 44 games with Peiting EC in Germany last season, accounting for 42 points (9g-33a). He was also tied for third on the team with 60 penalty minutes.

The 24-year-old is no stranger to the ECHL, having split time with the Gwinnett Gladiators, Utah Grizzlies and San Fransisco Bulls during the 2012-13 season. In 43 games that season, Carlson accounted for 24 points (5g-19a).

Prior turning pro, Carlson enjoyed a successful Major Junior career in the Western Hockey League, suiting up for the Medicine Hat Tigers, Regina Pats and Prince George Cougars. Carlson recorded 135 points (25g-110a) in 305 career WHL games over the course of six seasons.
