Cyclones sign Payerl

CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Cincinnati Cyclones have signed forward Adam Payerl for the 2015-16 season.

The Cyclones are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Nashville Predators and the American Hockey League’s Milwaukee Admirals.

Payerl has spent his entire pro career in the Pittsburgh Penguins system, having skated the majority of the past three seasons with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League. A native of Kitchener, Ontario, Payerl appeared in 41 games for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton last season, accounting for nine points (2g-7a) and ranking fifth on the team with 76 penalty minutes.

During the 2013-14 season, Payerl got a taste of the NHL, appearing in a pair of games for the Pittsburgh Penguins. He also skated in 43 games for AHL Penguins that season, totaling 11 points (5g-6a). Overall, Payerl has appeared in 136 professional games with Pittsburgh, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, and the Wheeling Nailers, accounting for 32 points (11g-21a).

Prior to turning pro in 2013, Payerl enjoyed a successful junior hockey career with the Ontario Hockey League’s Barrie Colts and Kitchener Rangers, where he scored 143 points (60g-83a) in 306 career games.
