Danis-Pepin joins Solar Bears blue line

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Orlando Solar Bears announced today that they have agreed to terms with defenseman Simon Danis-Pepin.


The Solar Bears are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Minnesota Wild and the American Hockey League’s Houston Aeros.


Danis-Pepin (6’7", 221 lbs.) has split the past three seasons with the Toledo Walleye and the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs. A second-round selection (61st overall) of the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, Danis-Pepin tallied 36 points (7g-29a) and added 65 penalty minutes in 71 games with the Walleye while registering 12 points (2g-10a) in 75 games with Rockford.


Before joining the pro ranks, the Montreal, native played four years at the University of Maine. Danis-Pepin served as the Black Bears co-captain during his senior year and accumulated 36 points (6g-30a) and 81 penalty minutes in 133 career games.
