The Gwinnett Gladiators announced that rookie forward Michael Davies was called up to the Chicago Wolves of the AHL for the second time this season.
The Gladiators are the ECHL affiliate of the Wolves and the Atlanta Thrashers of the National Hockey League.
Davies was assigned to Gwinnett on Dec. 9 and recorded one goal in two games with the Gladiators in his most recent assignment. In his first six games with Gwinnett this season from Oct. 22 through Nov. 1, Davies scored a goal and had five assists for six points. He has seven points (2g-5a) in eight games this season with Gwinnett. In 12 games this season with Chicago after being called up on Nov. 3, the Chesterfield, Missouri, native has earned six points (2g-4a) and 16 penalty minutes.
He set a career-high with 52 points (20g-32a) in 41 games as a senior with the University of Wisconsin last season. His 52 points last year shared sixth in scoring in the NCAA. He ranked second on the Badgers with a career-best 20 goals and third with a career-high 32 assists.
