The teams in Ohio gained some ground in the North Division as Dayton swept its two-game series with Trenton and Toledo is 2-0-0 in the last two games and 5-1-1 in its last seven games.
Toledo is 15-11-4 and in fifth place with 34 points, two points behind Johnstown, while Dayton is 12-22-3 and in sixth place with 27 points. Wheeling leads the division at 24-11-2 while Reading is second at 23-9-2 and Trenton is third at 18-16-2.
The Storm hosts Johnstown on Friday and Wheeling on Saturday while Dayton plays at Trenton on Friday and Saturday.
In the last seven games, Ken Magowan leads the Storm with six assists and 10 points while Chris Blight has a team-leading two game-winning goals and five goals and nine points (5g-4a). Acquired in a trade with Charlotte on Dec. 31, goaltender Bernd Bruckler is 2-1-0 with a goals against of 1.68 and a save percentage of .931 and has two assists in his first three games with Toledo.
