Demkov returns to Jackals

ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Elmira Jackals announced today that forward Artem Demkov has been loaned to the team from the Albany Devils of the American Hockey League.

The Jackals are the ECHL affiliate of the New Jersey Devils and Ottawa Senators of the National Hockey League and the Albany Devils and Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League.

Demkov recorded 11 points (6g-5a) and a +6 rating in 22 AHL games with Albany. He earned his first promotion to the AHL on Dec. 3 when he was loaned to the Devils on a professional tryout. Albany then signed Demkov to a standard player contract on Dec. 13. He attended training camp with Albany this year but started the season in Elmira. He led the Jackals in scoring with 10 goals and 12 points in 17 games at the time of his call-up. The Minsk, Belarus native scored in his first AHL game on Dec. 4 against Springfield. The winger also strung together a five-game point streak (3g-2a) from Jan. 10-18 with the Devils.

The 24-year-old is in his third season with Elmira, and has tallied 109 points (53g-56a) in 123 games with the club.
