Downing re-signs with Stingrays

North Charleston, S.C. – The South Carolina Stingrays have re-signed forward Jack Downing, Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Spencer Carbery announced.

The Stingrays are the ECHL affiliate of the Boston Bruins and Washingtin Capitals of the National Hockey League and the Providence Bruins and Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League.

Downing, 25, finished fourth on the Stingrays with 25 points (16g-9a) in 43 games last season and stood second on the team with 10 power-play points (6g-4a). The New Canaan, Conn. native also earned a 17-game promotion to the American Hockey League with the Providence Bruins and Iowa Wild.

Entering his fourth professional season, Downing carries 72 career ECHL points (41g-31a) in 102 contests with the Elmira Jackals and South Carolina and picked up 21 points (12g-9a) in 83 AHL matchups with the Binghamton Senators, Bruins and Wild.
