DULUTH, Ga. – The Gwinnett Gladiators announced that goaltender Mike Dunham has been recalled to the Atlanta Thrashers of the National Hockey League and that rookie goaltender Tuomas Tarkki has been assigned to the Gladiators from the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League.
The Gladiators are the ECHL affiliate of the Thrashers of the NHL and the Wolves of the AHL.
On a conditioning assignment after being activated from the injured reserve by Atlanta on Jan. 12, Dunham was 2-0-0 with a goals-against average of 2.50 in two games with the Gladiators. He made 20 saves in a 5-3 win over Charlotte on Saturday and had 11 saves in a 6-2 win against Columbia on Monday.
Signed by the Wolves on Jan. 12, the 25-year-old Tarkki began his professional career with Gwinnett and is 0-1-1 with a goals-against average of 2.41 and a save percentage of .921 in two starts with the Gladiators and is 6-2-4 with a goals-against average of 3.08 in 15 games with Chicago.
