Eagles add rookie defensman Johnston

WINDSOR, Colo. – The
Colorado Eagles announced that they have signed defenseman Daniel Johnston for the 2013-14 season.

Johnston, a Calgary, Alberta native, has spent the past six seasons in the WHL with time spilt between the Portland Winter Hawks and the Lethbridge Hurricanes. The 6-foot-2, 211 pound defenseman totaled 253 regular season games in the WHL recording 105 points (17g-88a) and adding 251 penalty minutes. In the 2012-13 campaign with the Hurricanes, Johnston played in 45 games and scored 34 points (8g-26a) and had 50 penalty minutes.
