Eagles re-sign ECHL MVP Costello

LOVELAND, Colo. – The Colorado Eagles of the ECHL announced today that they have re-signed ECHL MVP Chad Costello for the 2012-13 season.

Costello, who was the third Eagles player in as many seasons to be named league MVP, recorded 76 points (29g-47a) in just 47 games of an injury-shortened season; his 1.62 points-per-game average was the league’s best.

His strong performance in the ECHL led to two separate call-ups to the American Hockey League, along with several other honors at the ECHL level. He was named one of three forwards on the All-ECHL 1st Team, he was named one of Colorado’s Silver Skaters in lieu of a league All-Star honor and he compiled the best plus/minus rating in the ECHL through the month of December (+19). Costello finished the season tied for 4th in points (76), tied for 10th in goals (29), tied for 6th in assists (47) and tied for 4th in plus/minus (+21).
