George Dupont is in his first full season as head coach of the Pensacola Ice Pilots, having been signed to a two-year contract on March 9, 2006.
He joined the Ice Pilots as an assistant coach on December 10, 2005 and served as interim head coach from January 10, 2006 until officially being named head coach. Dupont, who is 10-28-4 behind the bench for Pensacola, joined the Ice Pilots after serving as head coach and general manager for the Milton Junior Ice Hawks in the Ontario Hockey Association where he was 83-32-6 and advanced to the postseason each of his three seasons.
He coached Tupelo in the Western Professional Hockey League for two seasons and was 77-48-16 and advanced to the playoffs both seasons, including 2000-01 when Tupelo was 46-20-5 and won the Governors Cup after finishing with the best regular season record.
The native of Nepean, Ontario and his wife, Amy, have three children, Danielle, Kate and Jake.
