PRINCETON, N.J. – The ECHL announced that it has partnered with Sabre to launch ECHL U which is an online community for the more than 250 employees of its teams.
“ECHL U addresses the request from our teams to have a better way to exchange ideas and best practices,” said ECHL commissioner Brian McKenna. “It also provides everyone with a place where they can go to get answers to questions in their specific area of the business.”
“While their teams may battle it out on the ice each night, the ECHL has shown tremendous foresight in providing its teams a platform to collaborate with each other and the league office with the goal of sharing information and successes,” said Erik Johnson, general manager of cubeless. “We are honored that the league has selected the cubeless product to power this unique and dynamic community.”
The Premier ‘AA’ Hockey League has 21 teams across five time zones from coast to coast in 16 states and British Columbia.
“We are very proud of our national footprint, but we also know that can make it difficult for our teams to collaborate and share ideas,” said ECHL senior vice president of communications/new media Jack Carnefix. “ECHL U gives teams a place to interact with each other on a daily basis and share experiences, exchange ideas and learn more about each other.”
The software application being used to power the ECHL U community is cubeless™, the enterprise social networking platform that was developed by Sabre Holdings so that its 9,000 employees spread across 59 countries could connect, collaborate, communicate and build culture. Sabre Holdings’ companies include Travelocity, Sabre Travel Network and Sabre Airline Solutions.
