ANCHORAGE, Alaska - The Alaska Aces, ECHL affiliates of the NHL's Vancouver Canucks and AHL's Utica Comets, have signed forward Kenny Babinski and goaltender Lukas Hafner to contracts for the 2016-17 season.
Babinski, 23, joined the Aces late in the 2015-16 season after completing his NCAA college eligibility at Ferris State University. The native of Midland, Mich. recorded two assists in five games with Alaska.
The 24-year-old Hafner, like Babinski, joined the Aces late last season. After completing his NCAA college eligibility at Western Michigan University, the Toledo, Ohio native appeared in five games for Alaska, fashioning a 2-2-0 record with a 2.96 goals-against average and save percentage of .900. Hafner also recorded his first professional shutout, a 34-save effort, in a 2-0 win against the Colorado Eagles on April 8.
