Everblades agree to terms with Matt Berry

ESTERO, Fla. – Florida Everblades President & General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Brad Ralph announced Monday that the team has agreed to terms with forward Matt Berry for the 2016-17 season.

The Everblades are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes and the American Hockey League's Charlotte Checkers.

Berry joins the Everblades after registering 37 points (16g-21a) with a +11 rating in 38 games played with the Utah Grizzlies. Berry also logged eight points (4g-4a) in 10 postseason appearances with Utah last spring. The 23-year-old also posted four points (3g-1a) in 15 games last season with the American Hockey League’s San Diego Gulls.

The Canton, Mich. native totaled 96 points (48g-48a) during his four-year career at Michigan State University from 2011-15. Following his senior campaign with the Spartans, Berry began his pro career appearing in five AHL games for the Norfolk Admirals in the spring of 2015.
