Wolfe re-signs with Adirondack

Glens Falls, N.Y. – The Adirondack Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames, announced that they have signed forward Greg Wolfe to a contract for the 2016-17 season.

Wolfe returns to the Thunder after he completed his second full season as a professional in 2015-16. Wolfe finished second on team scoring a season ago, as he netted 40 points (16g-24a) over 55 regular season games with Adirondack. He scored his first career professional hat trick on April 1 with a trio of goals in a 5-1 win over the Norfolk Admirals. Wolfe also appeared in all 12 playoff contests with the Thunder and led the team with seven goals and 14 points.

The Lansing, Mich. native also appeared in three AHL contests last season with the Albany Devils and scored his first career AHL goal, which came on Nov. 28 against Springfield. Wolfe previously split the 2014-15 season with the AHL’s Iowa Wild and the ECHL’s Alaska Aces, where he scored at over a point-per-game pace with 60 points (22g-38a) in 59 games. Prior to turning professional, the 26-year-old played four seasons of collegiate hockey at Michigan State University, where he led the Spartans with 31 points as a senior.
