The Mavericks are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Calgary Flames and the American Hockey League's Stockton Heat.
Widman showcased a steady defensive game during his rookie campaign last season with the Mavericks. In 70 games, the Naperville, Illinois native contributed 16 points (4g-12a) and was tagged with only 25 penalty minutes.
The 25-year-old laced up for St. Cloud State for his final three collegiate seasons, serving as an alternate captain during his final two seasons of college hockey. Widman also played three seasons in the United States Hockey League, closing out his career in the league as captain of the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders, posting 11 points (4g-7a) in 53 games with the club.
Goff joins the Mavericks out of Western Michigan University. He made his ECHL debut last year on a tryout with the Kelly Cup champion Colorado Eagles, posting one assist in four games, and also skated in three games with the AHL's San Antonio Rampage.
The 24-year-old posted highs of three goals and six assists for nine points as a senior with the Broncos while serving as an alternate captain. Prior to his collegiate career, Goff skated with the Fargo Force of the USHL, totaling 28 points in 166 career games in the league. He captained the team during his final season in Fargo, 2013-14.
