Martin Ouellette of the Orlando Solar Bears has been selected as the CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week for the week of Feb. 4-10. It is the fourth time in his career that he has received the weekly honor.
Ouellette went 3-0-0 with a 1.59 goals-against average and a save percentage of .944 in three appearances against Jacksonville last week.
The 27-year-old stopped 27 shots in a 3-2 shootout win on Wednesday, made 27 saves in a 2-1 victory on Friday and turned aside 30 shots in a 3-2 overtime win on Saturday.
Under an American Hockey League contract with Syracuse, Ouellette is 14-6-1 in 21 appearances with the Solar Bears this season with one shutout, a 2.78 goals-against average and a save percentage of.914. He has also seen action in two games with the Crunch, where he is 1-0-0 with a 0.77 goals-against average and a save percentage of .955.
A native of Saint-Hippolyte, Quebec, Ouellette has appeared in 155 career ECHL games with Orlando, Florida and Reading posting an overall record of 96-44-11 with 10 shutouts, a 2.47 goals-against average and a save percentage of .914. He is 12-5-2 in 23 career AHL games with Syracuse and Lehigh Valley with a 2.18 goals-against average and a save percentage of .929.
Prior to turning pro, Ouellette played four seasons at the University of Maine, where he appeared in 82 career games and went 28-33-14 with seven shutouts, a 2.52 goals-against average and a save percentage of .913.
