READING, Pa. - The Reading Royals, ECHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, announced the signing of 25-year-old forward Brendan van Riemsdyk to a contract for the 2021-22 season.Before the 2020-21 Royals season was cancelled, van Riemsdyk signed a contract to play in Reading before going on to spend his first professional season with the Knoxville Ice Bears of the Southern Professional Hockey League. In 16 games with the Ice Bears, he posted 11 points (5g-6a).Prior to turning pro, he recorded 50 points (22g-28a) in 144 games for Northeastern University and the University of New Hampshire.
