BOISE, Idaho – Captain and forward A.J. White has signed with Idaho Steelheads for the 2021-22 season.

White, 29, rejoins the Steelheads after posting 40 points (15g-25a) in 60 games with the Utah Grizzlies last season. The Dearborn, Michigan native led the Grizzlies in power-play goals and finished third in assists and points as well as fourth in goals scored.

During the 2019-20 season, White tallied 41 points (15g-26a) in 61 games with the Steelheads.

This will be the fourth season in Idaho for White, who first joined the organization during the 2017-18 season. In that time, he has served as captain for two consecutive seasons and missed only two games during the regular season and postseason combined, sitting three games away from breaking the top-10 list for Steelheads career games in the ECHL era. Over his 203 Steelheads games, he has totaled 125 points (41g-85a) and is tied for the seventh most assists by a Steelhead in the ECHL era.

Prior to joining the Steelheads, White played his first ECHL season with the Atlanta Gladiators in 2016-17. In four collegiate seasons with UMass-Lowell, White recorded 79 points (28g-51a) in 153 games over four seasons and was named captain for his senior season in 2014-15. He helped lead UMass-Lowell to a Hockey East championship in 2012-13.
