Sanchez inks deal with Heartlanders

Coralville, Iowa -Forward James Sanchez has agreed to teans with the Iowa Heartlanders for the 2022-23 season. Sanzhez tallied 23 points (8g-15a) in 43 games with the Jacksonville Icemen last season, while also skating in seven American Hockey League games with Hartford.

The Northbrook, Illinois native played at the University Michigan (2016-18) and Arizona State University (2019-21) in his collegiate career. In the 2018-19 season, he skated in the United States Hockey League with Dubuque in 2018-19. He registered 56 points in 62 games during his final two college seasons and led Arizona State in assists both years.In 2019-20, Sanchez became the first Sun Devil to tally 30 assists and 40 points in a single season and led Arizona State to its winningest campaign (22 wins) in school history.   

He made his pro debut with Hartford at the end of the 2020-21 season, recording five points (2g-3a) in eight games.
