Heartlanders add three

Coralville, Iowa – The Iowa Heartlanders, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Minnesota Wild and American Hockey League's Iowa Wild, announced the team has signed forward Guus van Nes and defenseman Skylar Pacheco to contracts for the 2022-23 season. Iowa has also acquired forward Brendan Robbins from the Maine Mariners in exchange for forward Josh Koepplinger and future considerations.

van Nes enters his first professional season after completing his collegiate career at Quinnipiac University where he totaled 37 points (10g-27a) over his 93 career games. He scored a career-high 17 points (6g-11a) in his senior season. The 25-year-old has represented The Netherlands multiple times on the international stage.

Pacheco has spent his first two pro seasons in France for Amiens (Ligue Magnus) producing  27 points (3g-24a) in 64 games. From 2015-20, he for Brock University where he tallied 66 points (18g-48a) in 131 career games.

Robbins is preparing for his third ECHL season after scoring a career-best seven goals and 20 points in 54 games for Maine last season. In 2020-21, Robbins scored one goal in 33 games for Kansas City. From 2015-19, Robbins attended the University of Maine where he tallied 65 points (30g-35a) in 143 games.
