BATTOCHIO NAMED CCM ECHL GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK

PRINCETON, N.J. – Danny Battochio of the Rapid City Rush is the CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Feb. 15-21.The 30-year-old went 3-0-0 with one shutout, a 0.94 goals-against average and a save percentage of .965 in last week’s action.Battochio stopped all 24 shots he faced in a 2-0 win at Idaho on Wednesday, made 22 saves in a 3-2 victory over Alaska on Friday and had 33 saves in a 3-1 win against the Aces on Sunday.A native of Lively, Ontario, Battochio has appeared in 35 games for the Rush this season going 16-14-3 with two shutouts, a 2.66 goals-against average and a save percentage of .915.Battochio has seen action in 241 career games with the Rush posting an overall record of 127-75-20 with 13 shutouts, a 2.58 goals-against average and a save percentage of .913.Runners Up: Drew Fielding, Adirondack (1-0-1, 0.96 GAA, .979 save pct.), Matt Ginn, Atlanta (2-0-0, 0.97 GAA, .961 save pct.) and Franky Palazzese, Wheeling (3-0-0, 1.33 GAA, .949 save pct.).Also Nominated: Pat Nagle (Fort Wayne), Branden Komm (Idaho), Nic Riopel (Norfolk), Vitek Vanecek (South Carolina), Jake Paterson (Toledo) and Mark Owuya (Utah).
