Everblades agree to terms with Geary, Stejskal

ESTERO, Fla. –
Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Greg Poss announced Thursday that the team has agreed to terms with forward Josh Geary and defenseman Joe Stejskal for the 2013-14 season.

The Everblades are the ECHL affiliate of the Carolina Hurricanes and Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League and the Charlotte Checkers and Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League.

Geary, 23, returns after posting three points (1g-2a) in four games with the Everblades last spring. Prior to Florida, the 6-0, 185-pound forward concluded his collegiate career at St. Michael’s College with a career best 24 points (16g-12a). The Wellesley, Mass. native totaled 67 points (36g-31a) during his four seasons with St. Michael’s.

Stejskal, 25, joins the Everblades after splitting time with the Hamilton Bulldogs and the Wheeling Nailers last season. The 6-3, 206-pound blue liner registered six points (1g-5a) in 31 games played with Hamilton, while logging four assists in 26 appearances with Wheeling. Stejskal posted three assists in 62 games for the Bulldogs from 2010-12. In addition, he amassed 32 points (14g-18a) during his four-year collegiate career at Dartmouth College.
