ESTERO, Fla. – The Florida Everblades announced that they have signed forward Dan Baum, who was acquired by Florida from the Phoenix RoadRunners on Dec. 21 in exchange for financial considerations.
Selected in the seventh round (215th overall) by the Edmonton Oilers in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft and in his fourth professional season, the 23-year-old has been playing in the Quebec Senior Professional League where he had seven points (3g-4a) and 118 penalty minutes in 15 games with St. Hyacinthe.
He had two assists and 27 penalty minutes in 11 games with Phoenix which acquired him on Nov. 20 to complete a trade that sent center Yannick Tifu from the RoadRunners to Dayton. Baum had three points (2g-1a) and eight penalty minutes in seven games with Dayton.
The Everblades are the ECHL affiliate of the Stanley Cup champion Carolina Hurricanes and the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League and the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League.
