Everblades sign rookie defenseman

ESTERO, FL –  Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Greg Poss announced today that defenseman Brad Good has signed with the club.


The Everblades are the ECHL affiliate of the Carolina Hurricanes and Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League and the Charlotte Checkers and Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League.


Good signs with the Blades after finishing up a four-year collegiate career at Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario last month. Good finished his senior season posting 12 points (5g-7a) in 28 regular season games with the Ravens, and notching three points (1g-2a) in six Ontario University Athletics playoff games.


Overall in his four seasons at Carleton University, where he was coached by former Everblade Marty Johnston, the Kitchener, Ontario native tallied 34 points (7g-27a) in 100 games. Good, who served as the Ravens’ captain this past season, turns 25 on March 10.


Prior to skating at the collegiate level Good spent four seasons at the major junior level with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League.


The 6-foot-2, 200-pound blue liner finished his junior career in 2006-07 by notching six points (1g-5a) and 147 penalty minutes in 67 regular season games with the Greyhounds that season. During his time in Sault Ste. Marie, Good skated in 249 career games, tallying three goals and 27 assists.
