Everblades’ Zepp Named Sun National Bank Saver Of The Month

PRINCETON, N.J. – Rob Zepp of the Florida Everblades is the Sun National Bank East Coast Hockey League Saver of the Month for November.

The 21-year-old Zepp was 6-2-2 with a 1.48 goals against average and a .952 save percentage as the Everblades went 7-3-2 in November. He is 8-3-4 and leads the ECHL with a 1.78 goals against average and a .943 save percentage, allowing one goal or less in eight of his 15 games.

The 6-1 and 190-pound Zepp posted back-to-back 3-1 wins at South Carolina to open the month, making 23 saves on November 1 and 28 saves on November 2. He made 23 saves in a 3-2 loss against Columbus on November 8, and had eight saves, entering the game in the third period, in a 5-4 overtime loss to Columbus on November 9. He made 29 saves in a 5-1 win over Augusta on November 15, and had 41 saves in a 2-1 shootout loss to Augusta on November 16.

He allowed only one goal and made 30 saves in back-to-back road starts, winning 3-2 at Columbus on November 19 and 4-1 at Greenville on November 21. He had 36 saves in a 5-3 loss at Greensboro on November 23 before closing out the month with his first shutout, making 33 saves in a 6-0 win over Pee Dee on November 29.

Under contract to Carolina of the National Hockey League, Zepp was 6-5-2 with a 3.33 goals against average and a .902 save percentage in 13 games with Florida in 2001-02. He was selected in the fourth round (110th overall) by Carolina in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. He was also selected in the fourth round (99th overall) by Atlanta in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.
