Ewing Makes Mark In First Season

Billy Joel once sang of a shooter from Wheeling, West Virginia, “who soon put many older guns to shame.” He might as well have been talking about Bryan Ewing.

The Boston University product, who was born in Wheeling and lived there until moving to Massachusetts’ South Shore when he was 10, returned to Wheeling this year as a member of the ECHL’s Nailers and has taken the league by storm.

The 5-foot-10, 170-pound forward not only earned CCM ECHL Rookie of the Year honors, but was named First Team All-ECHL after finishing second in the league with 91 points, including 43 goals (third in the league) and 48 assists (tied for fifth).
