Falcons Extend Lead In Pacific

Fresno won its only game of the week to improve to 8-3-1 and holds a five-point lead in the Pacific Division over San Diego and Long Beach, who are tied for second at 5-6-2. Bakersfield is fourth at 4-5-3, one point ahead of Stockton which is 4-4-2 despite playing its first 10 games on the road.

Fresno, which is 7-0-0 against the Pacific Division, will host Las Vegas on Tuesday before traveling to Bakersfield on Saturday and San Diego on Sunday. The Falcons are 2-0-0 against San Diego, beating the Gulls 4-3 in a shootout on November 12 and 3-1 on Saturday. Fresno beat Bakersfield 6-2 on November 6 while losing 5-2 at Las Vegas on November 8.

Brett Jaeger has won his last two starts to improve to 6-2-1 and he is tied for second in the league in wins while ranking fourth in minutes with 558 and 20th in goals-against average at 2.79.

Luke Curtin has a seven-game scoring streak (3g-6a) and leads the Falcons in goals (8), assists (11), points (19), power-play assists (7) and power-play points (10). He is tied for third in the league in scoring and ranks fourth in power-play points.

San Diego, which has won its last two home games to improve to 2-0-1, opens a seven-game home stand when it hosts Victoria on Wednesday, Long Beach on Friday, Stockton on Saturday and Fresno on Sunday. The Gulls lost 5-0 at Long Beach on November 2 and 4-3 in overtime to Stockton on November 5.

Steve Hildenbrand has a three-game scoring streak (3g-3a), including the game-winning goal in each of the last two Gulls victories, and leads the team with six goals while ranking second in scoring with 11 points. Guillaume Fournier has a seven-game scoring streak (4g-6a) and leads the team with eight assists and 13 points while Tom Lawson is 4-1-1 and ranks eighth in the league in goals-against average at 2.25.

Long Beach will have a chance to avenge its 2-1 shootout loss at Bakersfield on Saturday when it visits the Condors on Tuesday in a 10:30 a.m. game. The Ice Dogs continue their four-game road swing at San Diego on Friday and at Phoenix on Saturday before hosting Victoria on Sunday. Long Beach won 5-0 against San Diego on November 2 and won back-to-back shootouts at Phoenix, 5-4 on November 9 and 3-2 on November 11.

Christian Larrivee leads the Ice Dogs with eight assists and 13 points and his five goals tie him for the team lead with Ash Goldie, who is tied for second in scoring with Chris Kenady (2g-6a).

Bakersfield, which ended an 0-3-2 streak with its shootout win against Long Beach, continues its four-game home stand hosting Long Beach on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. and Fresno on Saturday. The Condors, who are 3-0-2 at home, lost 6-2 at Fresno on November 6.

Kevin St. Jacques has seven points (3g-4a) in the last seven games to move into second on the team with five goals and third in scoring with nine points. Scott Basiuk leads the Condors and is tied for third among league defensemen with 10 assists while also leading the team in scoring with 11 points, tied for sixth among ECHL defensemen.

After going 2-1-0 on its visit to Ohio, posting a 4-3 shootout win at Toledo on Friday and a 4-2 win at Dayton on Sunday, Stockton continues its season-opening 15-game road trip when it visits Utah on Thursday, Las Vegas on Friday and San Diego on Saturday. The Thunder’s first win of the season was 4-3 in overtime at San Diego on November 5.

Joel Irwin leads the team with 11 points and is tied for the team lead with seven assists while Mike Lalonde leads the Thunder with seven goals and ranks second in scoring with 10 points. Jeff Weber picked up the win on Sunday at Dayton to improve to 2-1-2 and he ranks third in the league in save percentage at .939 and is ninth in goals-against average at 2.26.
