Falcons Sign Curtin, Mather

FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno Falcons announced that they have signed ECHL All-Star left wing Luke Curtin and center Shawn Mather, who both played for head coach and general manager Matt Thomas in Atlantic City in 2004-05.

Curtin made his second start and his third All-Star Game appearance in 2005 when he was also named team captain for the National Conference. Selected in the fifth round (134th overall) by the Colorado Avalanche in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft, the 27-year-old Curtin had 40 points (9g-31a) in 38 games with Atlantic City and two assists in five games with San Antonio of the American Hockey League in 2004-05.

The 25-year-old Mather was acquired at the trade deadline by Atlantic City and scored 19 points (11g-8a) in 11 regular season games and three points (1g-2a) in four Kelly Cup Playoff games. He had 43 points (19g-24a) in 56 games with Johnstown giving him career bests in goals (30), assists (32) and points (64).
