WINNIPEG, Manitoba – A question to ponder as the Manitoba Moose pack for the last, and most important, road trip of their American Hockey League season.
Can a defenceman known more for his toughness than his talent provide the turning point in the Calder Cup Final?
If the Moose go on to win this thing, we’ll no doubt be talking about Jason Jaffray’s hat trick that turned the series in Game 2.
Probably the clutch goaltending of Cory Schneider, too, as Manitoba knotted the series at a game apiece.
But how about this for a potential swing moment: enforcer and former Alaska Aces defenseman Zack FitzGerald taking a puck in the chest in what might just turn out to be the save of the series.
