Takes 2-0 Lead In Eastern Conference Finals

(Ticker) — Ryan Brindley scored the game-winning goal late in the third period to lift the FloridaEverblades over the Reading Royals, 5-3, in the second game ofthe Eastern Conference Finals. Brindley collected his secondgoal in nine playoff games with 2:52 remaining, giving Florida atwo games to none lead in the series. Chad LaRose supplied theEverblades with a 2-0 advantage midway through the first period,Matt Pagnutti knotted the contest at three goals apiece 8:58into the third and LaRose potted his second goal of the gameinto an empty net with seven seconds left. Rob Zepp finishedwith 22 saves to improve to 7-0 in the postseason. Florida haswon its last six playoff games, outscoring opponents by a 25-11margin. Brad Church scored a power-play goal with 1:53 left inthe first period, tallied again 6:53 into the second andassisted on a score by Kent Davyduke 2:23 into the third to giveReading a 3-2 advantage. Cody Rudkowsky, who stopped 17 of 20shots in the third period, finished with 46 saves for theRoyals, who have lost their last three postseason games on theroad.
