Flyers Sign Ross, Zingoni

PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League announced that they have signed centers Jared Ross and Pete Zingoni, who both played in the ECHL in 2005-06.

The Wheeling Nailers are the ECHL affiliate of the Flyers of the NHL and the Philadelphia Phantoms of the American Hockey League.

Selected in the eighth round (231st overall) by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, the 26-year-old Zingoni had five points (2g-3a) and 13 penalty minutes in 16 games for Trenton in an injury-shortened 2005-06 season.

The 24-year-old Ross played opening night for Gwinnett as a rookie in 2005-06 before being recalled to the AHL where he had 37 points (10g-27a) in 62 games for Chicago.
